General Rules and Regulations
1. The golden rule everyone should remember is to respect one another. Mutual respect is important in maintaining an active and fun roleplaying group. It motivates everyone to communicate among each other and can give a good first impression to people who want to join the group.
2. To apply, simply sign up! Once you've created an account in this forum, go to the category of the tribe you wish for your character to be in and simply proceed to the 'Character Profiles' board. There, create a new thread with your character name as the subject. Include all details that you think will be useful for everyone to know. You will only be allowed to roleplay once the admin has made a post of approval on your character thread. Anyone who roleplays immediately without the admin's approval will have his/her unapproved character deleted.
3. When engaging in a roleplay with someone, both parties are expected to reply to threads until they are finished. Don't leave your partner hanging just because you don't like how things are turning out. Talk to them, ask them if there's something both of you can do to make things agreeable. Surprise starters are nice too, but if they are left hanging, please don't panic. Talk to the one who hasn't replied to your starter if you want. Also, if the post is only between 2 or 3 people, and if you are not involved, please do not butt in and disturb their roleplay unless you have their permission.
4. We all know that everyone has lives OOC, with all the work, school, family stuff, and it's very understandable if a few members can't be on everyday, but please try to reply to posts regularly or whenever possible. If a member is absent for a week (no OOC/IC posts), the admin will send him/her a heads up via message; not a warning. If there is no response within the next week that follows, only then will the member will be given an official warning. Three weeks of absence without letting the admins know why is punishable by group exclusion. To members who will disappear for a certain period of time due to holidays or anything reasonable, please send the admin an approximate date of your return. You will then be given an additional 7 days in case something should come up and prevent you from returning on the approximate date.
5. The Chronicles of Xenia is a para RP group, meaning we do our roleplays in paragraph form. Please refrain from roleplaying using asterisks or any symbols of the sort that try to differentiate actions from speech (ex: -pounces on the harpy- I'll get you!, *growls at the elf*; Unless it's in OOC discussions, then go crazy), or from using one-liners unless necessary (ex: She pounced over a log and landed on mud. She was very sad.).
6. We want to try to limit OOC arguments at all costs to avoid any unnecessary outbursts between members, so if you have a problem with someone in the group, please settle things calmly by talking to them. It's never wrong to ask help from someone (in a good way of course), but please don't be biased whenever an argument builds up. Analyze the problem carefully because even your closest friends can be as wrong as your enemies. Any act of hostility, be it direct or indirect, may result to group exclusion (ex. passive-aggressive posts, threats, etc.).
7. Hostility will not be tolerated in this group. inb4 We want to limit OOC arguments at all costs. This goes to everyone ( yes, including the trolls). A maximum of two warnings may be given. The third warning will lead to group exclusion.
8. If there is a major plot device, all members will be notified and they will be open to discuss this with the admin and fellow groupmates. Members involved in plot devices are expected to participate. For those who will be unable to participate due to anything OOC, read rule #3. Major plot devices include prophecies, disastrous events, (eg. forest fire, flood, etc.) and wars. Minor plot devices will also happen every now and then, such as fun events to help everyone become active!
9. Members are allowed to use random/stock photos to present their characters and other stuff, but if you're going to post artwork in the guild, please put a disclaimer if you aren't sure who the artist is. If you know the artist, please give them credit. People who are guilty of claiming to have drawn something they honestly haven't will be given a warning.
10. Finally, please categorize your roleplay threads well. eg: If you're having a roleplay with someone from the same tribe as you are, then create the thread in the category that corresponds to your tribe. Any roleplay outside the tribes will be posted in the 'Uncharted Territories' category. Battles/Wars will be posted in 'The Great Battles' category.
